Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and Stencil Labs, Simon Turkovič s.p., a sole proprietor registered in the Republic of Slovenia (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the Aura: Protocol mobile application (“App”).

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Aura: Protocol is a personal wellness application that calculates a daily Aura score based on health and activity data. The App integrates with Apple HealthKit, the Screen Time API (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks), and CoreMotion to provide features including:

• Health habit tracking: steps, sleep, workouts, stand hours, flights climbed, distance, mindful minutes, water intake, daylight exposure, calories, and protein intake
• Daily Aura score calculated based on your enabled habits
• Screen time management: spending earned Aura points on timed screen time sessions or device unlocks
• App blocking via the Screen Time API and a Walk to Unlock feature using CoreMotion pedometer data
• Streak tracking with milestone rewards
• Ghost Mode: comparing today’s progress against yesterday at the same time of day
• Home screen widgets displaying your current Aura score and streak
• Live Activities showing a countdown timer on your lock screen during active screen time sessions
• Goal-based challenges for additional motivation

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. User Account

The App supports two authentication methods, both powered by Supabase:

• Sign in with Apple: creates an authenticated account linked to your Apple ID. The App sends your Apple identity token to Supabase for authentication. This token may contain your Apple ID email address, which Supabase stores as part of your auth record. Your email is used solely for account identification and is never displayed in the App or shared with other parties.
• Anonymous sign-in: creates an anonymous session with no personally identifiable information.

Your account is associated with a randomly generated install ID (UUID) used to identify your device’s session. You may upgrade from anonymous to Apple ID authentication at any time. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account.

4. Health and Activity Data

The App requests access to Apple HealthKit to read the following data types: step count, sleep analysis, workout sessions, stand hours, flights climbed, walking and running distance, mindful minutes, dietary water, time in daylight, dietary energy consumed (calories), and dietary protein.

The App also writes dietary water intake to HealthKit when you log water consumption within the App.

This data is used solely to calculate your Aura score and display habit progress. All health data remains on your device and is never transmitted to any server, third party, or external service.

You may revoke HealthKit or Screen Time access at any time through your device’s Settings, though this may limit the App’s functionality.

The App is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Aura scores are for personal motivation and informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making decisions based on health data.

5. Screen Time and Device Management

The App uses Apple’s FamilyControls and ManagedSettings frameworks to block apps you select. When blocked apps are opened, a shield overlay is displayed. The App also supports:

• Sleep schedule blocking: automatically blocking selected apps during your configured sleep hours
• Timed sessions: temporarily unblocking apps for a set duration in exchange for Aura points
• Walk to Unlock: requiring physical activity (steps) to unlock your device from a blocked state

The App does not access or read the names, categories, or usage statistics of other apps beyond what is necessary for the blocking features you configure.

6. Aura Points Virtual Economy

Aura points are a virtual scoring mechanism within the App. They have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, sold, or redeemed outside of the App. The Company reserves the right to adjust the point system, scoring formulas, and earning or spending thresholds at any time.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

The App may offer optional subscription plans (“Aura Pro”) that provide access to premium features. Subscriptions are processed exclusively through Apple’s App Store using StoreKit. The Company does not collect, process, or store any payment or billing information.

All subscription terms, pricing, billing, renewal, and cancellation are governed by Apple’s terms and your Apple ID account settings. You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device’s Settings under Subscriptions.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, animations, text, and all other content, is the intellectual property of Stencil Labs and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works based on the App.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to circumvent or manipulate the Aura scoring system or app blocking features
• Interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality
• Use automated systems or scripts to interact with the App

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Company disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Company does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components. The Company makes no representations regarding the accuracy or reliability of health data or Aura scores.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Stencil Labs, its owner, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, personal injury, or property damage, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the App, regardless of the theory of liability. In no event shall the Company’s total liability exceed the amount you have paid to the Company in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty euros (€50.00), whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable EU or Slovenian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

12. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Stencil Labs and its owner, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of any third party.

13. Data Deletion

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time by using the “Delete My Account” option in the App’s Settings. This action:

• Removes all local SwiftData records (transactions, streak logs)
• Clears all UserDefaults and AppGroup shared data
• Deletes your account and associated data from our Supabase backend (install ID, onboarding analytics, authentication session)

This action is irreversible. If you have an active subscription, please cancel it in your device’s Settings before deleting your account.

14. Modifications to the Terms

The Company reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be reflected within the App with a revised “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

15. Termination

The Company may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Company or other users. Upon termination, your license to use the App is revoked. You may terminate your use of the App at any time by deleting it from your device and requesting account deletion.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Slovenia and applicable European Union regulations. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Stencil Labs regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements or communications.
